2016 Nighthawks Alumni Game Recap

This year’s Nighthawks Annual Alumni Holiday Game was a great time for all, both Nighthawks young and old.

Our current Nighthawks got to see how well they measured up against the best of every past generation of the team under the watchful eye of former Nighthawks Head Coach George Carro.

Thank you to everyone who came out, and for those who couldn’t, you were sorely missed.

Looking forward to next year’s event!!

Nighthawks / Chicago Hornets Sled Hockey Event, 2016

Nighthawks Nation:

On Saturday, January 23rd, your Nighthawks will be holding an event to benefit the Chicago Hornets Sled Hockey program and the Chicago Blackhawks Warriors team.

All past and current Nighthawks are invited to skate in the event, but we please ask that your RSVP to Ben by January 2nd. You can call or talk to Ben directly, or email him at info@nighthawkshockey.com

About the Event

We are having a team made up of Nighthawks Alumni and VIPs to skate against the Blackhawks Warriors team.

The military themed evening will start out with introduction of VIPs, honorary captains, full military honor guard, and National Anthem. Following opening ceremonies, there will be two games played. First, the Blackhawks Warriors will play a team made up of Nighthawks Alumni and VIPs.

Then after intermission, the Hornets will play a sled hockey game against the current Nighthawks team.

The event, as planned, is to not only help build these two important programs, which bring a lot to the communities they serve, but to give our military, both veteran and active duty, the support and salute they deserve.

There will be a hospitality room with refreshments available for all uniformed military and event participants starting and hour before and during the event.

There will also be informational tables set up for each branch of our armed forces for community outreach.

About Chicago Hornets Sled Hockey

The Chicagoland Hornets are a Youth Sled Hockey team consisting of kids ages 5 to 20 whom have physical disabilities yet are determined to play ice hockey. As almost all children do, they want the opportunity to participate in sports and feel the camaraderie of being part of a team. In some cases it’s not even to play hockey; for some, it is their only freedom outside a wheelchair or walker.
